FICC and ICC Iraq’s Active Participation in Istanbul: Strengthening Global Connections for Iraq

ICC Iraq and the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce (FICC) recently participated in a series of high-level global events in Istanbul, showcasing their dedication to fostering stronger connections between Iraq’s business community and the international arena. Here is an overview of their active involvement:

13th October – B-MENA Regional Consultative Group Meeting

Joined by 20 ICC National Committees from across the Middle East and North Africa, ICC Iraq engaged in vital discussions on trade issues and regional cooperation. This meeting provided an essential platform to enhance collaboration within the region and strengthen Iraq’s role in the global economy.

14th October – WCF General Council & WCF Executive Committee

In a gathering of world chambers and prominent business leaders, ICC Iraq explored strategies for economic growth and international partnership. The meeting was hosted by Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chair of the WCF, alongside TOBB. This collaborative event highlighted the importance of collective efforts in driving global economic progress.

15th October – ICC WCF Europe & Asia Summit

Proud sponsors of this influential summit, ICC Iraq actively participated in discussions centered around “A Collaborative Approach to Climate Action.” The event underscored the role of business in sustainability and offered a unique platform to advance environmentally responsible practices. Special appreciation goes to ICC leadership, including Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO, Chair Philippe Varin, and WCF First Vice-Chair Dr. HC Marie Christine OGHLY. 16th October – WCF Women Council

A day focused on empowering women in leadership, the WCF Women Council event brought together global leaders committed to gender diversity and inclusivity. ICC Iraq supports these efforts and is dedicated to elevating the roles of women within Iraq’s business community.
