Annual Meeting of the FICC – ICC Iraq National Committee on Arbitration & ADR
The ICC Iraq National Committee on Arbitration & ADR held its annual meeting in Baghdad, opened by Mr. Mohsen Al Hamid, Chair of ICC Iraq, who highlighted ICC’s role in strengthening Iraq’s business environment and dispute-resolution standards.
Dr. Abdulateef Nayyef, Vice President of the State Council and Committee Chair, emphasized the importance of mediation and the need to advance the Mediation Law.
Mr. AHMED ALYASIRI, Secretary General of ICC Iraq, presented key activities from 2024–2025, including training programs, international engagements, and Iraqi Arbitration Week preparations.
Government interventions included representatives from the Ministry of Planning, National Investment Commission, Iraqi Jurists Union, and Ministry of Trade, focusing on the role of mediation and arbitration in investment and contract implementation.
Dr. Ahmed Al Hankawi, Committee Member and Rapporteur, presented the 2026 strategic plan, covering legal development, international partnerships, and professional capacity-building.
The meeting concluded with key recommendations for the upcoming year.
